Nobody cares about your blog.

Mi è tornata alla memoria quell’iniziativa di qualche tempo fa promossa da Andrea sul “perché è giusto mantenere un blog“.

La scintilla c’è stata quando sono atterrato sull’articolo che ha dato il titolo anche a questo mio, che racchiude tanti buoni motivi per continuare a scrivere e pubblicare sproloqui sul web affidandoli esclusivamente allo spazio personale e non all’ennesimo Social Network che offre tutto, gratuitamente, velocemente, per poi farti sparire in chissà quale meandro del web o per spegnere tutto e andare via senza neanche passare dal via ritirando le duemila lire.

• Your blog is not original. There are hundreds of blogs out there, what makes you think yours is different? You’re just probably repeating things you’ve read in another place.
• You’re not an expert in your field, otherwise you wouldn’t be publishing in a blog, but writing papers and giving interviews.
• You are only showing the world how stupid you are. If what you say is not better than silence, you better shut up.
• If someone, at some point, cares about your blog will be only to criticize it. Your work is trash, and exposing it will make people notice you’re trash as well.

Ma:

• You can use it as notes to your future self. After some years you’ll have a nice journal of how you have evolved over the years. Rereading your old texts is like communicating with your past self.
• To release ideas that you have in your head and that you need to get out. Even if nobody else cares about them, writing them down can be a cathartic process.

• If you have lost time solving a superspecific problem then you need to write about it, it can happen that you end up being someone hero some day. It can also happen that you’ll have the same problem again and then you’ll be your own hero.
• You can say whatever the fuck you want. It’s your blog, you don’t need to follow any rules. I just cursed and you can’t do nothing about it, because this is my blog and I do what I want. This will give you a sense of freedom that’s really cool imho.

Sì, tenere in piedi questo spazio fino a quando ne avrò le forze, la voglia e il budget è qualcosa che non “passa di moda”.
Se penso agli albori del mio primo progetto (GxWare, ormai morto e sepolto) e all’evoluzione che mi ha portato a Gioxx’s Wall, rivedo crescita, voglia di imparare e confrontarmi, errori (tanti), discussioni (anche animate), esperienze (alcune davvero molto belle) e amici, persone che ancora oggi continuo a sentire e con le quali ho stretto bei rapporti solo perché ho deciso di buttare me stesso in una trasposizione online fatta di righe di testo e codice, preferendo tutto questo a strumenti più al passo con i tempi, di fruizione più semplice e immediata.

(e)Sticazzi se qualcuno lì fuori leggerà tutto questo, scrivo prima di tutto per me stesso, per prendere appunti, per ricordarmi cose che ho vissuto, per ridere e scherzare con chi c’è ancora e chi non c’è più. per tenere una traccia digitale sana di un io che è tanto complicato e che spesso si rifugia in questo piccolo spazio utilizzandolo come valvola di sfogo. Mi piace scrivere, mi piace “tenermi in allenamento” e mi piace ancora di più condividere conoscenza ed esperienze con chiunque lo voglia.

Grazie a te che hai letto questo articolo diverso dal solito, grazie ancora di più se tieni in piedi un blog e lo popoli ogni volta che puoi e che hai qualcosa da dire, stai contribuendo a rendere il web un posto potenzialmente più sano, una piazza di scambio solidale per chi non è solo un pollo da spennare per Facebook, Instagram e soci annessi.
